Scar Removal - Home Remedies for Scars

by Martha Fitzharris

A scar is a form of connective tissue that forms in the area of a cut or incision. In the beginning it has a pinkish tone which later gives way to a light-silver color.

Any form of scar reduction can give positive results if applied soon after the injury is sustained. This is done by keeping the area clean and by frequently monitoring it during the healing process. When done correctly this greatly reduces the scars appearance.

Scar removal creams are a blessing to any scar victim in search of a more friendly treatment. However, if the person is searching a more drastic treatment they may turn to surgical scar removal. If the person does go through surgery they should keep in mind that after such a harsh treatment, it is recommended they apply topical treatments to help the skin heal.

Another scar removal procedure is known as dermabrasion. Dermabrasion involves controlled surgical sanding that 'refinishes' the top layers of the skin to give a smoother appearance. No matter which scar treatment you choose, it will always depend on your personal needs.

Areas of high skin tension will usually show signs of abnormal scar healing. These areas are comprised of the upper back, front of the chest, shoulder. If the scar is fresh you should apply scar healing creams only after the wound has fully closed.

Here is a short list of different types of scars:

*Keloid scars: Scars that are a result of an overly aggressive healing process.

*Contracture scars: Burn victim scars.

*Hypertrophic scars: Red scars that are raised and are very similar in appearance to keloid scars.

*Acne scars: Scars that appear after a severe acne breakout.

Preventing Scars and treating them

There are several forms of scar prevention and treatment. Here we list only a few:

Topical Treatments: Applied directly onto the skin's surface. Most topical treatments are made-up of vitamin E, cocoa butter, or snail serum. However, the treatments effect will vary depending on each person and the form of application.

Bioskinrepair: a topical over-the-counter treatment that stimulates the skin's regenerative processes and helps to avoid excess scars and to reduce hypertrophic scars and keloids.

Surgical removal or treatment: This type of scar treatment is effective for deeper wounds and scars depending on your particular case: skin grafts, excision, dermabrasion or laser surgery.

Scar treatment will depend greatly on your types of scars. However, if your concern is scar prevention you need to find a scar treatment that helps your skin's natural regenerative process. For scar prevention and scar treatment there is a amazing product, Bioskinrepair. This natural treatment stimulates the skin's natural regenerative processes and helps avoid excess scarring.
