Skin Cream, Beauty & Health Information

Current "in style" and hot trends can always be easily identified on a college campus. In the 1960's and 1970's co-eds decorated their rooms with lavish lava lamps and beads in their doorways, psychedelic colored posters adored each wall and black lights were "groovy" to have around. In the 1990's lava lamps made a huge comeback in nearly every college girl's dorm room, beads were once again hung in doorways in campuses across America and psychedelic posters were resurrected on white dorm walls. Even black lights made an appearance to even out the trend. So, what are this year's college freshmen using as the prime theme of decor for their dorm rooms?

Vintage film posters populate walls from Hudson University to UCLA and all points between. Girls who had not even been a glimmer in their parents' eyes when "Breakfast at Tiffany's" was released in theatres are hanging Audrey on the wall and buying dark glasses and pearl necklaces. Classic film posters from A-list hits such as "Scarface" or D-list wonders such as "Evil Dead" are hung up every day. The black and white posters are only the tip of the movie memorabilia iceberg.

What is the reason that twenty year old men and women are reaching back to the days of drive in movies and black and white pictures? No one knows for sure, but maybe they are yearning for a more simple time when humor was light hearted and times were easier to understand or maybe it is just the allure of classics that caught a hold of them again.

Merchandising makes millions. At times, merchandising for films can make more than the film itself. With vintage movie posters being more popular than ever, college poster sales all around the country are making a killing selling out of old "Dracula" and "The Blob" posters, even more so than posters of recent films. From figurines and accessories to catch phrase t-shirts and movie posters, everything from your favorite feature film can be bought and sold.

Posters are so much more than a simple hanging on a wall. They remind us of far away places and the big dreams we held close as children. They display our individuality, preferences and can be a completely honest representation of self. The current trend in posters is not found in pop culture icons, but, instead vintage and independent movie posters seem the most popular gift requested by students and grads all around the country.

More than twenty years ago most American teens had posters displaying the sexy Faye Dunaway or the incredible Elvis Presley hanging from their wall. Today, the hottest trends with teens in posters are those same figures that were popular way back then. These iconic representations are the perfect gift for that young man or lady in your life, and can give them the same expression of happiness that they gave an older generation upon receipt.
